Welcome to ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp Residence Life!
Welcome to Residence Life at ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp Community College! Residence Life is thrilled to have students live within the residence halls throughout the year. Whether it is your first time living on campus, or you are a returning student, we are confident that you will have an enjoyable and meaningful experience!
Why Live on Campus?
Living on campus is more than just a place to sleep: living on campus makes you part of a community with your peers. You will have the opportunity to discover your independence, make lifelong connections, be within walking distance of your classes and student services, and many more benefits!
Research shows that students who live on campus are more involved, get better grades, graduate on time, and have a better overall college experience. Campus living helps you stay focused and connected.
Living in a residence hall is also cost-efficient and more economical than living off-campus. Many amenities are included in your 16-week semester cost:
-
Wi-Fi
-
Cable/Streaming services
-
Included meal plan (14-meals per week)
-
Free laundry
-
And for one price, ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp covers the electricity, garbage service, lawn care, and snow removal (things you would have to pay yourself if you live off campus)
For on-campus living requirements, ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp only requires student-athletes who receive any form of athletic scholarship to reside on campus. For all other students, ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp highly encourages students to live on campus to gain valuable life experiences.
Housing Options
Each campus at ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp has unique housing options tailored to the student-living experience. Students on each campus will have access to furnished lounges, game rooms with pool tables and ping-pong tables, computer labs, and more. Also, student parking on campus is free.
To learn more about what each campus has to offer, please visit our Housing Options & Floor Plans page.
More ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp Living on Campus
Housing accommodations are an option for students who work with the Accommodations Resource Office (ARO) on their campus studentada@southeast.edu. Requests for housing accommodations should be submitted before the request deadline for the semester you are planning to move in
-
Fall Deadline: April 15
-
Spring Deadline: October 5
ARO will review and consider all requests that come in, however, we cannot guarantee that an accommodation can be provided if received after the request deadline for the semester you are planning to move in.
Students inquiring about an exemption from the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp meal plan due to food allergies or intolerances should first reach out to the Accommodations Resource Office (ARO). ARO will help the student connect with Great Western Dining to set up a meeting to discuss their individual dietary needs. If Great Western is unable to accommodate the student’s situation, ARO will collect and review the student’s medical documentation and request for a potential meal plan accommodation.
NOTE: Accommodation requests are for medical reasons or approved ADA requests only. Personal food preferences, food choices, wanting to cook one’s own meals, and likes and dislikes are not something that qualify for a meal plan accommodation.
Residence Life staff plan a variety of activities and events throughout the semester which focus on educational, recreational and social opportunities for residents. Examples include game nights, movie nights, speakers, educational programs, pool tournaments, basketball tournaments, and late-night breakfasts during finals.
By choosing to live on campus, you will automatically receive the benefits of an on-campus meal plan. A 14-meals-per-week dining plan is included in the cost of all residence halls. Beatrice and Lincoln residents have the option to upgrade to a 19-meals-per-week plan.
Dining facilities include multiple options such as pizza, sandwiches, a daily special, and a full soup and salad bar to appeal to any appetite for the all-you-care-to-eat meals with each card swipe.
Residence life students cannot opt out of the meal contract with Great Western. If you have food allergies or sensitivities, contact Great Western Food Service Manager for your campus

Resident Assistants (RAs) are students who live within the residence halls and are committed to building a community on their campus. RAs are typically second-year/second-term students hired based on the campus needs. They provide leadership, team-building, and community development to students living on campus. For students interested in learning more about the RA position, contact the campus Residence Life Office.
ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp Community College currently does not mandate immunizations for students living on campus. However, being up-to-date on all immunizations is certainly encouraged.
Meningococcal Disease: In 2003, the Nebraska State Legislature passed a law mandating all students entering college receive information regarding meningococcal disease, a rare infection with potentially devastating results. Meningococcal disease is a serious illness caused by a type of bacteria called Neisseria meningitidis. It can lead to meningitis (infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord) and infections of the blood. Meningococcal disease often occurs without warning — even among people who are otherwise healthy. This infection occurs sporadically in clusters and is spread by close contact with infected individuals. Students living in residence halls are in a high-risk group.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines licensed in the United States:
-
Meningococcal conjugate vaccines (MenACWY)
-
Serogroup B meningococcal vaccines (MenB)
These vaccines help prevent the most common causes of meningococcal disease in the United States. All students will be provided information on meningococcal disease prior to check-in as well as during check-ins.
