ADA Grievances

A student may file a grievance if they believe that:

  • An accommodation(s) is ineffective.
  • They have been denied equal access to appropriate accommodations, modifications, auxiliary aids, or effective communication.
  • Their efforts to resolve accommodation concerns through the Disability Services Office are unsuccessful.

Students are encouraged to seek resolution of a concern through a collaborative informal process through the Disability Services Office before filing a formal grievance. However, students may use the College’s formal grievance procedure to appeal decisions regarding student accommodations, and may do so without first going through the College’s informal grievance process. The form to file a formal grievance may be accessed here: Formal Grievance form.
